The thirteenth annual Nunavut Mining Symposium will be held in Iqaluit from April 13-15, 2010. The theme of this year’s Symposium, From the Ground Up, highlights the paths of achievement that the mining and exploration industry represent in the development of regional economies, as well as in the development of education and training initiatives.
The Nunavut Mining Symposium attracts professionals from Inuit organizations, regulatory agencies, various levels of government, and exploration and mining companies. Events include conference sessions, a one-day trade show, hospitality suites, entertainment, and a gala dinner and awards evening to celebrate the mining and exploration industry in Nunavut.

Patricia M. Mohr
Vice-President, Economics and Commodity Market Specialist, The Scotiabank Group
Patricia Mohr is Vice-President, Economics, at Scotiabank’s Executive Offices in Toronto. Pat is responsible for commodity market research in Scotia Economics and works closely with Scotia Capital’s Corporate and Investment Banking groups — including the Mining team – with ScotiaMocatta and with Global Risk Management. Scotia Capital is among the top three corporate mining banks in North America (No. 1 in Canada) and is a leading provider to the mining industry internationally, with extensive offices throughout China, the Far East and Latin America (Chile, Peru and Mexico). ScotiaMocatta is the world’s top physical trader of precious metals, is a member of the London Gold & Silver Fixes and has recently become a member of the Shanghai Gold Exchange.
Ms. Mohr developed the ‘Scotiabank Commodity Price Index’ – the first Index designed to measure price trends for Canadian commodities. Pat maintains a close interest in national and international economic and financial market developments.
Ms. Mohr holds an Honours B.A. Degree and a Masters Degree in Economics from The University of British Columbia and originally comes from Vancouver.
Prior to joining Scotiabank, Ms. Mohr spent a number of years with Alberta Energy Co. Ltd. (now EnCana Corp.) in Calgary and with CP Ships and Canadian Pacific Bermuda in London, England as Corporate Economist. Pat began her career with Natural Resources Canada in Ottawa.
